Comet Neowise, the brightest comet visible from the Northern Hemisphere in a quarter of a century, was caught in Mercury’s orbit a week ago. Due to its position near the sun, dust and gas have escaped from its surface and created a larger tail. Now comets are coming towards us and will get closer in two weeks.

NASA’s Neowise infrared space telescope spotted the comet in March. Comets will be seen throughout the Northern Hemisphere until mid-August, when it returns to the outer solar system. According to NASA, although the comet is visible to the naked eye in the night sky in places without light pollution, binoculars are needed to see its long tail.

Joe Masiero, deputy chief investigator for the telescope at NASA’s Jet Engine Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said the comet will return in about 7,000 years. since the mid-1990s that astronomers in the Northern Hemisphere see.
