Psyche is located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It may have been a planet at first, but after its destruction, only a small size remained during the formation of the Solar System. Currently 16 Psyche have a width size of only about 200 km.

According to scientists, the reason for the asteroid Psyche a huge amount of precious metal is because this is the core of an early planet that has lost its outer shell.

NASA predicts asteroid 16 Psyche may be like the core of Earth, filled with metals iron and nickel. Therefore, 16 Psyche is not only economically valuable, but also helps scientists learn about the formation of the Earth.

According to the Daily Mail, if this metal were somehow brought to Earth, it could bring down the entire $ 73.7 trillion economy today. This metal will reduce the value of precious metals on Earth, and devalue all shares of companies involved in mining, distribution and trading of metals, including the government.

So far, NASA has completed the design of spacecraft to explore the asteroid and start building the ship. SpaceX’s Heavy Falcon rocket will take this spacecraft to leave Earth in August 2022. It is expected that the spacecraft will take 4 years to reach the asteroid Psyche, as early as 2026.

To reach 16 Psyche, NASA’s unmanned spacecraft will have to fly to the asteroid belt, located between Mars and Jupiter. The NASA spacecraft will use magnetic measuring devices to as‌sess the asteroid’s magnetic field, using a camera to capture images of the asteroid surface.

The spacecraft will try to collect data on the metal composition inside asteroid 16 Psyche. NASA announced the upcoming mission does not include landing on the asteroid surface to drill for sampling, because of the hidden risks and this mission completely serves the science.
