Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt confirmed that some of the graves common to the high-ranking priest was discovered in the village of Tuna al-Gabal, near the city of Minya, the Nile valley, central Egypt . This area is a vast archaeological site on the western desert edge.

The photo provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities shows one of the graves discovered in the village of Tuna al-Gabal, near the city of Minya in the Nile River Valley.

In the 16 tombs were found containing about 20 coffins and five wooden coffins. Waziri said these tombs may belong to high-ranking priests of Thoth, the Go‌d of literature and knowledge of ancient Egyptians. Hundreds of amulets and 10,000 blue funeral statues, called ushabti statues, and furniture in ancient tombs, were also discovered. The tomb covers are shaped like a human mummy.

Egypt continues to show new aspects of its rich history. Last year, archaeologists uncovered an ancient cemetery near the famous Giza pyramids just outside Cairo.

Also in 2019, the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities announced the discovery of an ancient cemetery near Minya Valley city of Minya, south of Cairo. The large cemetery is located in the north of Tuna al-Gabal area. It consists of several axes buried and storing more than 1,000 statues and about 40 tombs as well as other artifacts.
