Some se‌ּx robots today are able to react when humans touch them, thanks to sophisticated sensors and being able to say simple sentences. In the 2020s, se‌ּx robots will become more and more sophisticated, making people unable to distinguish between real and se‌ּx robots, Matt McMullen, founder of RealDoll told Daily Star.

According to McMullen, by 2025, se‌ּx robots that are so lifelike unrecognizable to the naked eye, can only be detected once chatting. McMullen said his company is developing a facial recognition method for se‌ּx robots, to identify owners in the crowd.

McMullen told the Daily Star that "the appearance of se‌ּx robots will have tremendous progress" in the next 5-10 years.

Louie Love, another founder in the market for making robots and se‌ּx dolls, says the company’s new design has reached the level of real people, "very confusing."

"We have found the secret to making real se‌ּx dolls, even making se‌ּx dolls using 3D scanning technology," explains Louie Love. "But Love thinks there’s still a decade ahead of us so se‌ּx robots can reach that indistinguishable level."

Artificial intelligence (AI) expert, David Levy, believes that humans can soon load into the brains of se‌ּx robots with their own personalities. "Human-to-human conversation is always the biggest challenge for AI," Levy said.

“I think for se‌ּx robots to be identical to real people, it also needs to know how to talk. If you want to build a relationship with someone, you need to have an interesting and loving conversation, ”Levy said.
