The minutes of the US Federal Reserve’s (FED’s) policy meeting released in early June showed its officials warned that recurrences of Covid-19 infections would hinder growth. economic growth, rising unemployment, and inflation exceeding the threshold recorded earlier this year.

FED officials are also concerned that the restrictions are being lifted, which will lead to an increase in infection and that the stable restart of the economy depends on effective disease control.  

Fed Chairman Jerome Powell also warned on June 30 that the US economy will not be able to fully recover if the people of the country are not serious about implementing social gap and other preventive measures.

Powell said it was necessary to resume economic activities, but this also brought new challenges including controlling the spread of the virus.

The United States has recorded more than 2.7 million people infected with Covid-19 and the number of new infections per day has increased by more than 40,000 over the past three days.
