Epic Games has released an extensive list of smartphones that are currently being supported by the developers. There are not a lot of smartphones on the list but most often smartphones made the cut. Here are the phones that support Fortnite on android.

What Specs Are Needed To Play Fortnite on Android?
Even if your smartphone is not on the list, Epic Games says that if you’re device matches the
following specs, you might be able to play the game.
- OS: Recommended Android 8.0 or higher, 64 bit
- RAM: 3GB or higher
- GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher
A good thing about the spec sheet is that it is not that demanding. Most midrange smartphones these days come with these specs so most people won’t be left out.

How to Install Fortnite on Android?
Now that you’ve checked whether your smartphone is on the support list or not, let’s discuss how you can install Fortnite on android. There are a couple of steps you’ll need to take for you can get to the actual game.
Firstly, go to the official Fortnite android website and download the .APK file. Fortnite is not available on Google Play Store yet so you’ll need to install it with a custom installer. The .APK file is the installer package.
Once the file is downloaded, locate and run it. Depending on your smartphone manufacturer, you’ll be asked to give permission to install third-party apps from unknown sources. Usually, we don’t recommend that you install apps that you download from third-party websites. However, Epic Games is a trusted developer and you can install the file without any fears.
Once the Epic Games Installer is installed on your smartphone. You’ll need to activate the app manually. After you’ve done that, the game will start downloading.
However, once the game is installed, you’ll still need to download around 3 GB worth of data. This can be done by activating the game from its icon in your app drawer. Depending on your download speeds, it will take a little bit of time before you can start playing the game. After the installation is a hundred percent complete, all you need to do is simply login to your Epic Games account and start playing.
Unfortunately, rooted smartphones cannot run Fortnite right now. Epic Games state that the restriction is implemented due to the unavailability of effective anti-cheat systems. They say they might allow rooted Android smartphones to run Fortnite if they find an efficient solution.
