This morning, at home Man Utd was unable to win against Southampton in the 35th round of the Premier League, Solskjaer’s team only got a 2-2 result. Armstrongs opened the scoring for the visitors in the 12th minute, Rashford equalized the 1-1 for the home team in the 20th minute.

Man Utd took the lead in the 23rd minute after Martial’s strike, but Southampton regained a point in injury time with a late Obafemi goal.

With only one point, Man Utd pomped at 5th place on the table, Solskjaer’s army got 59 points, equal to the team ranked fourth and Leicester City one point behind Chelsea. 

With a goal scored against Southampton, striker Anthony Martial has hit the 50-goal mark in the Premier League. The French striker experienced 142 games in 5 seasons to reach the 50-goal mark, thereby becoming the 10th Man Utd player to reach this goal.

Before Martial, there were nine Man Utd players scoring over 50 goals in the Premier League including Wayne Rooney (183 goals), Ryan Giggs (109 goals), Paul Scholes (107 goals), Ruud van Nistelrooy (95 goals), Andy Cole ( 93 goals), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (91 goals), Cristiano Ronaldo (84 goals), Eric Cantona (64 goals), David Beckham (62 goals). 

Former Dutch player Robin Van Persie also scored 48 Premier League goals in Man Utd’s shirt, unfortunately he could not reach the 50-goal milestone. 

Martial surpassed 50 goals in the Premier League

Man Utd set a new Premier League record when it became the team with the most players scoring players scoring 50 or more goals. The Manchester team can continue to improve their performance when Marcus Rashford is near the 50-goal milestone, the English striker has 43 goals.

David De Gea has reached 400 matches for Man Utd, the Spaniard has become the most foreign player to play for Man Utd and he is sure to improve his performance in the future.
