The Subcommittee for the Vietnam Television Digital Project Steering Committee met on June 11 to prepare for the cessation of analogue television broadcasting (analog television) in the provinces of group II and group. III and plan to deploy the Vietnam Television Digitalization Project in provinces of Group IV.

According to the plan of 12 provinces of Group III, including: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan will stop broadcasting. Similar terrestrial television for main broadcasting stations from 24 hours on 30/6/2019. These 12 provinces will also stop broadcasting ATV to replay stations from 24 hours on December 31, 2019.

For 9 provinces of Group II including: Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Khanh Hoa will stop broadcasting ATV for playback stations at from 24 hours on September 30, 2019.

The Subcommittee for the Steering Committee of the Vietnam Television Digitalization Project also stated that, by this time, Vietnam Television (VTV) has covered DVB-T2 for the 12 provinces of Group III mentioned above. channel VTV1 to VTV9 program (including 5 HD channels and 4 SD channels) and 12 program channels for political tasks and essential propaganda. The coverage area has met the demand of people watching digital television.

At the same time, the preparation of support for digital television receivers (STB) in 12 provinces is being implemented urgently. The Ministry of Information and Communications has organized the selection of contractors to implement the package "Support for digital television receivers for poor and near-poor households in 12 provinces of Group III". On June 10, 2019, the Ministry of Information and Communications approved the contractor selection results and signed contracts with contractors.
